“And now, little children, abide in him so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.” 1 John 2:28
Throughout his letters, the apostle John makes it clear over and over his desire for the us to be assured in our faith - to know that if Christ abides in us and we in him, we can have full confidence that he dwells with us even now and that we will be with him forever in eternity.
Our second Sweet Mercies meeting coming this Sunday the 30th will continue to expound on our theme of abiding in Christ and will encourage our hearts to know with confidence that we are born of God - that we are his beloved children. We are excited to hear from Heather Hughes as we open up 1 John once again.
So mark your calendars for Sunday evening at 7, at Redeemer Church (Chesapeake Campus) in the lobby with our usual yummy desserts and coffee, rich friendship and worship. All ladies 7th grade and up are welcome!
I think the dear old apostle John would encourage us to go to Sweet Mercies by saying, “My little sisters, go, abide in sweet fellowship with your father and with each other, so that our joy may be complete!”
I hope to see you all there!
